Twilight Poem Untitled

Twilight Poem Untitled

Oh wondrous as the twilight's dusk
His hands, still neither coarse nor brusque
Caress his lover's furrowed brow
And speak, with honeyed prose, a vow:
"My Isobel, with beating heart so sweet,
We find our nuptials at long last, complete."

Said Isobel, a child of Vesta:
" And how long must I be sequestered?
With virtuous devotion, long abiding
Have I waited for this union's guiding.
Now thine ring is on my finger
How much longer shall we linger?"

Sir Edward spoke, with irritation:
"Speak no more of our consummation.
Thou bargains with her own death giver
On your request, I shall deliver."
Sweet Isobel's eclipsed compliance
Thus coronated her alliance.

With breaking dawn and glistening dew
Awakens she, refreshed anew.
"O foolish child," his voice strained not,
"Look what your arrogance hath wrought."
And so, the bruised and broken lamb, lain bare
Was safe within her lion's snare.

3 Poems: A Heart's Resolve, Time Hold Still, First Impressions

*

A Heart’s Resolve...
(Based on Edward’s decision to join Bella,
with fate deciding his resting place, upon learning
of Bella’s death while in Italy)

Falling off the edge
To where I’ve never been
Feeling though I’ve never felt
Moving with the wind
Intrepidly taking steps
Slower to reach my end
To where the sun sets in
Where I’ll be free (of me)
Free to be where my heart now rests
In deep blue skies
If heaven’s gate takes kind to me

Thinking back to taste
Sweet memories
Of you
No longer roaming
Without a heart to call my home
Now free to be with you, free to be near you
The one thing keeping me true
No longer here to quench my thirst
Only Sweet memories
Of you

Time Hold Still...
(Based on Bella’s decision
to join Edward for eternity)

Time hold still
For me
If only for this moment
As my soul surrenders
To my heart’s resolve

When what lies inside
Is worn on my sleeve
So delicately balancing
On the edge of forever
While dark skies are beckoning
And the prospect of night
Shines brighter than the sun

With Heaven’s rains now caressing us
So clearly painting scenes
From my watercolor memory
Of what has been
And of what will be
To be loved
As no one soul has known
When hope allows destiny
To give life to love
And sets it free...
Sweet kiss deliver me
To you

First impressions...

Smiling eyes
Swiftly sensing how
With each seductive glance
They are devouring my soul
Every bit of all that I am
All I know myself to be
Walls made dense through time
Are now brought down
So effortlessly
Damning all uncertainties
Swallowing prejudices whole
A new world built for them to see

Confident eyes
Teasing with a conscious stare
Fracturing my crystalline facade
Erecting a bridge to
That Mona Lisa smile and those irrational lips
As I stand naked in his cloudless sky
His look embracing me steadily
Slow to breath
Slow to speak
Without words to mark this moment
Without sensibility

Earnest eyes
Pleading with mine to leave
Yet eagerly grasping
For a natural response from mine
Relentlessly pursuing
My every raw unflinching move
For some undeniable pleasure of certainty
My sole objective
To deny the satisfaction they seek
Is lost in the midst of his obsession
Lucidity now fleeting
Myself and all I know myself to be
Grows painfully distant
Timidly I surrender to these
Faultless eyes
Ever more consenting to their flawed view of me

Cadiz

*

Cadiz

Ed, your lazy languid gaze
Cuts like a knife into the haze
Of life, it holds me and it stays
Within my head, like you, for days

You’re piercing teeth and eyes akin,
Inviting me, they beckon in
To depths unknown waiting within,
To wanton death and wanton sin

I’d let you drag me to your lair
And tie me to a swivel chair
Or choke me softly with your hair
And make me your Porphyria

I’d let you push me, make me frown
Your force of will now made unbound
It parts my being, lays me down
Like tears of hurt upon the ground

I’d let you look inside and see,
Written on the core of me
The catalogued debauchery
Implied in stanzas four and three

Your bloodless eyes can take me higher,
I worship at your steeple of fire
You're the reason I insipire-
Your twilight, my light, my vampire.

Edward

*

Edward

His face, so white, so hard almost like a statue.
Almost like if one sudden movement dared to touch him,
it would shatter into a thousand pieces.

And his eyes, so gold, so black though still slightly calming.
They were looking right in my direction.

His arms wrapped gracefully around my waist,
as I began to feel the ice raising up my spine.

I looked up so I could see those magnificent eyes
realizing that they were bending down toward mine.
Suddenly I felt his rich, plump lips gently brush against my cheek.

Just then I realized that my fear had been gone.
Coming close to death three times truly changed my soul.

Edward isn't just perfect,
nor is he human.
He is and always shall be...
My Vampire!

"Dangerous Obsession: Ode to Edward Cullen"

*
Dangerous Obsession
Ode to Edward Cullen

His black eyes burned me
My pulse gone array

The heat within moved me
Lighting a fire through my veins

The pale perfection that was his face
left me wanting more for his sweet embrace

His thick brown hair with golden lights
Sent my fingers wandering for pure delight

Is he real or just my obsession?
This continues to be my burning question

No regrets for the sad mysterious man
Romance revived by the midnight hour at hand

He watches me sleep
Should I be afraid or stay as still as the moon

Either way my heart is his
whether my happiness follows or impending doom

Pablo Neruda's Love Sonnet #11 "To Edward Cullen"

(When I read this poem, I thought of Edward Cullen. I didn't write it, but it expresses what I feel about this unique character in the Twilight Series)

Love Sonnet XI

I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me,
all dayI hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body,
the sovereign nose of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,
And I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,

hunting for you, for your hot heart,
like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.
